此取出自一齣百老匯音樂劇《The Great Mogoo》裡的一首曲子。是由E.Y.Harburg與Billy Rose作詞，Harold Arlen作曲，原來的曲名為〈If You Believe in Me〉後來在33年的電影《Take A Chance》中由劇中演員June Knight與Charles「Buddy」Rodgers合唱此曲，在這個戲劇銀幕中這首歌就改名為〈It's Only a Paper Moon〉，而最早灌錄唱片的是33年10月由「爵士之王」Paul Whiteman指揮的大樂團。
